Payments Canada has appointed Patrick Boudreau as Vice President, Fraud and Financial Crimes, effective April 30, 2026.

In this role, Patrick will lead the organization’s strategy to ensure Canada’s national payment infrastructure remains resilient against evolving financial crime risks. This includes overseeing the National Payment Fraud Services (NPFS) platform, which provides essential monitoring and alerting tools for the forthcoming [Real-Time Rail (RTR)](https://www.payments.ca/systems-services/payment-systems/real-time-rail-payment-system) — a first-of-its-kind implementation globally for real-time payment systems.

Patrick Boudreau is a seasoned expert with more than 20 years of specialized experience in the fraud and identity landscape. He has held senior leadership positions at TransUnion, PC Financial, Equifax and RBC.
