Mona M. Vernon
Mona M. Vernon is the Chief Technology Officer, Thomson Reuters Labs. In this newly created role, she is responsible for a network of global innovation labs as well as research & development, the center for cognitive computing, and design and rapid prototyping teams at Thomson Reuters. Previously, Mona was Vice President, Thomson Reuters Labs where she was instrumental in building the global labs network that partner with customers and third parties, such as start-ups and academics, on new data-driven businesses. Prior to leading the labs, Mona ran the Emerging Technology group and launched an Open Innovation Challenge program across the company. Before joining Thomson Reuters, she worked for several technology start-ups in product development and management roles.
Mona holds a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and a S.M. in Engineering and Management from MIT, where her research focused on the role of customer experience in digital business strategy. She is an Executive Board Member of the FinTech Sandbox in Boston, a member of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Big Data & Cybersecurity Leadership Group, a member of the Boston Financial Services Leadership Council, and a winner of Boston 50 on Fire.
