Status on call for nominations

Payments Canada is now accepting nominations for appointments to the 2024 Member Advisory Council (MAC). The nomination deadline is March 25, 2024.

The 20-person council provides advice to Payments Canada’s management team and Board of Directors on key elements of the future of payments, including Canada's Modernization program, and ongoing operations, policies and initiatives dealing with Canada’s clearing and settlement systems; the interaction of those systems with other systems involved in the exchange, clearing or settlement of payments and the development of new technologies.  

2024 nominations will be effective July 4, 2024 and terms run for three years.


Who is eligible to be part of the Member Advisory Council?

Our Member Advisory Council consists of individuals who represent the interests of member financial institutions that directly or indirectly participate in at least one of Canada’s payments systems, or who are due-paying members of Payments Canada.

Payments Canada’s broad 110 member base includes direct clearers, group clearers and indirect clearers. When nominating a representative, Payments Canada encourages member organizations to review the *eligibility guidelines.

How to submit a nomination

Members who wish to submit nominations for the council for consideration are asked to submit a completed nomination form online or via PDF and send a curriculum vitae to councils@payments.ca.

Nominations must be received by Monday, March 25, 2024  
Nominees will be informed of the decision by May 31, 2024

The Board of Directors will make appointments to the council based on criteria outlined in By-law No. 1 (10).
