Rawhani

Fariba Rawhani is a senior executive in business, technology, and transformation with extensive experience leading complex organizations through large-scale change. She has focused on aligning business strategy, operating models, technology, data, product innovation, and organizational culture to deliver value.

Fariba currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology and Transformation Officer of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), leading a national business and technology transformation supporting Canada’s securities regulatory system. Her mandate includes advancing the CSA’s multi-year transformation strategy; modernizing critical national regulatory platforms; strengthening enterprise architecture, data and AI capabilities, cybersecurity and resilience; and evolving governance, operating models and delivery practices across a complex multi-jurisdictional environment.

A central theme throughout Fariba’s career has been using technology and innovation as an enabler of business transformation rather than an end in itself. She has led redesigns of operating models and governance structures, introduced digital products and services, modernized mission-critical platforms, built organizational capabilities, and fostered accountability, collaboration, agility and innovation. Across her career, Fariba has been guided by a consistent belief: sustainable transformation occurs when business strategy, people, culture, operating models, data and technology move together toward a shared outcome.

Fariba’s career spans senior executive leadership across financial services, healthcare, technology services, and the public and regulatory sectors. She has held executive positions with CIBC, Teranet, Home Trust, eHealth Ontario and EDS. Fariba currently serves on the boards of Payments Canada and Workplace Safety and Prevention Services (WSPS), bringing experience in transformation, technology, governance, risk and organizational change to board oversight.

Fariba holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and studied Computer Science and Business Administration at the University of Vienna. She has received numerous industry recognitions, including the IDC CIO Innovation Award, the HMG Global Leadership Award and the CSPN Women in Leadership Award. She has also been recognized as one of the most visionary women in technology, reflecting the breadth, influence and lasting impact of her leadership and legacy.
