MacKenzie

As President & CEO of Peoples Group, Mr. MacKenzie brings strong leadership along with a comprehensive understanding in all areas of the banking and financial services industry. He has over 35 years of diversified experience encompassing operations, risk management, market planning and implementation of financial products/programs. Grant is an entrepreneurial leader and has started four financial institutions throughout his career. Sitting as a member of the Domestic Bank Executive Committee for the Canadian Bankers Association (CBA), he advocates for sound commercial banking, as well as provides advice on policy making decisions.

Previously, Grant played key roles in the successful launch of two leading electronic banks in both Canada and the US – ING Direct. He broadened his experience as the head of Risk & Loss Mitigation at GE Capital Mortgage insurance. He was an original partner in Cervus Financial, a leading-edge lender, which launched the first trailer fee program in Canada. When Cervus was sold to Macquarie Financial Ltd, he remained as CEO and grew the company significantly. 
 
Grant is a graduate of the Ivey Executive Development Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. He resides in Thornbury, Ontario.
