As Executive Vice-President, International Sector, Stéphane Achard is responsible for the Bank’s international investment activities, namely its subsidiaries ABA Bank in Cambodia.

With more than 35 years of experience in the financial services sector, Stéphane  has developed extensive knowledge of the financial industry, having served in a variety of management positions in numerous sectors such as personal and commercial banking, risk management, strategic planning, capital markets and payment solutions. He oversaw National Bank’s Commercial sector for a number of years, during which time he spearheaded the combining of two key sectors, namely private banking and commercial banking. Before assuming his current position, Stéphane served as Executive Vice-President and Co-Head of Commercial and Private Banking for National Bank as well as leading its insurance subsidiary.

Over the course of his career, Stéphane has shown his commitment to various causes supporting health, the arts and entrepreneurship. He has served on the boards of the École nationale de cirque, the Fondation de l’entrepreneurship, the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, the Montreal Council on Foreign Relations (MCFR), the École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce, the ACET – Université de Sherbrooke and the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation.

Stéphane currently chairs the boards of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), a Quebec crown corporation, and the Martin-Matte Foundation. He is also Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Québec Global 100 and sits on the Board of Payments Canada.

Stéphane holds an MBA and Bachelor of Administration from Concordia University.
