Important information: The 2020 SUMMIT is cancelled

OTTAWA, March 12, 2020 - Today, in consideration of directives from the Public Health Agency of Canada, and after consultation with multiple stakeholders and members, we have made the decision to cancel this year’s Payments Canada SUMMIT.

This was not a decision taken lightly, but a necessary one, to protect the health and well being of our sponsors, our delegates and our staff.

Payments Canada is responsible for the critical infrastructure to operate Canada’s clearing and settlement systems and the foundation of our operations is safety. Operational resilience is a key principle of our risk management strategy and we have protocols in place to effectively address and manage any major incident to ensure that our systems continue to run safely and soundly. This includes monitoring and responding to the evolving nature of COVID-19.
