Payments Canada announces new Vice President, Risk Management

Payments Canada is pleased to announce the promotion of Maggie Tittel, CPA, CMA, to Vice President, Risk Management, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer.

Maggie has a strong background in risk. She joined Payments Canada in 2019 as Director of Enterprise Risk and Operational Resiliency from BMO, where she championed the design and evolution of the operational risk program and held leadership roles within Internal Audit. From April 2022 until her promotion to VP, Risk Management, Maggie served as Payments Canada’s Director, Procurement, Vendor Management and Technology and Operations Integration, focused on developing and evolving the procurement and vendor management programs, as well as leading key initiatives within Technology and Operations. As a leader, she emphasizes coaching, mentoring, performance management and employee engagement with her team.

In the role of Vice President, Risk Management, Maggie will manage the operations and continuous improvement in the areas of Enterprise and Payment Product Risk, Operational Resilience and Financial Risk Management and Regulatory Oversight, with the goal of maintaining a risk appetite that is aligned with our strategic plan. This role also includes integrated risk board reporting and maintaining effective relationships with Payments Canada’s members, external stakeholders and regulators. Maggie will also be part of Payments Canada’s Operational Leadership Team.

Maggie is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Management Accountant and holds a bachelor of math from the University of Waterloo.
