What is the best advice you received?

Don't compare yourself to others, everyone is on their own journey unique to themselves. That one is courtesy of my dad and one I am still working on internalizing.

When are you most fully yourself?

When I'm at home with my wife. Though I'm always myself, my wife gets the unabridged version of me, for better or worse!

How do you de-stress?

Playing with my kids is the most enjoyable activity that I do. No matter how the day is going or has gone, they always have the same 'happy to see you' look when I see them. Second is playing basketball, which takes my mind off of anything else that's going on. Playing on the court puts me in as close to a meditative state as I can get.

How did your earlier career/life choices lead you to where you are now?

Growing up, I thought I'd spend my career working on Wall Street. After spending two years there, it was clear to me that it wasn't the right career move for me personally. I started my first website at age 21, but didn't know at the time people can make a living on the internet (don't laugh!), outside the publicly-traded companies. The choice of going back to school and realizing I belong in the tech industry is what most led me on a path to where I am today.

If you could meet one person (alive or dead), who would that be, and what is the first thing you would say to them?

Naval Ravikant, CEO and founder of Angellist. Yes, he's a legendary entrepreneur and investor. But what separates him are his views on work and life, which I try to emulate in my day-to-day. The first thing I would say to him is 'You should write a book’! Next, I'd ask him to explain this quote of his: "Most of life is a search for who and what needs you the most."
