Payments Canada announces new Vice President, Finance and Procurement

Senior financial leader Matt Byrd joins the organization at an exciting time for the organization and the Canadian payment ecosystem.

Payments Canada is pleased to welcome Matt Byrd as the new Vice President, Finance and Procurement. In this role, Matt will be responsible for the organization’s financial planning and analysis, accounting and procurement functions, including financial modeling and analysis and funding and pricing. He will work with members and stakeholders to provide clear and consistent financial information to support decision making.

A senior finance executive with comprehensive Canadian and global financial experience, Matt was most recently with Interac, where he was Deputy Chief Financial Officer. In that role, he supported all core financial processes, as well as corporate pricing governance, financial strategy and managed relationships with key participants. He has progressive experience in the finance and technology sectors, including payments. Matt has a passion for building high-performance teams and cultivating meaningful relationships while providing best-in-class service to support business objectives. He has a proven track record of generating business value within highly successful, publicly-traded companies.
