Payments Canada names Patrick Boudreau as Vice President, Fraud and Financial Crimes
Payments Canada has appointed Patrick Boudreau as Vice President, Fraud and Financial Crimes, effective April 30, 2026.
In this role, Patrick will lead the organization’s strategy to ensure Canada’s national payment infrastructure remains resilient against evolving financial crime risks. This includes overseeing the National Payment Fraud Services (NPFS) platform, which provides essential monitoring and alerting tools for the forthcoming Real-Time Rail (RTR) — a first-of-its-kind implementation globally for real-time payment systems.
Patrick Boudreau is a seasoned expert with more than 20 years of specialized experience in the fraud and identity landscape. He has held senior leadership positions at TransUnion, PC Financial, Equifax and RBC. Most recently, as Vice President and Head of Identity Management and Fraud Solutions at TransUnion, he was a key thought partner within the broader fraud and fintech ecosystem.
Patrick will also serve as a strategic liaison between Payments Canada, our members, regulators and key stakeholders, such as the National Anti-Scam Coalition, across the ecosystem. His focus will be on strengthening industry collaboration and data sharing to help the ecosystem respond to emerging threats more effectively.
