Payments Canada wins 2020 Employer Excellence Award
Payments Canada has won the Employer's Excellence Award for diversity in talent acquisition, from Hire Immigrants Ottawa. The award recognizes employers for their innovative workplace policies and practices around the recruitment and integration of skilled immigrant employees into their organization.
“Payments Canada is honored to be awarded the Hire Immigrants Ottawa 2020 Employer Excellence Award,” says Tracey Black, CEO, Payments Canada. “Employees with diverse backgrounds and experiences strengthen our organization, enrich our culture and enhance our future.”
As a result of this Hire Immigrants Ottawa partnership, combined with targeted recruitment and outreach events, Payments Canada achieved a 2019 hiring total of 35 per cent newcomers.
Launched in 2006, Hire Immigrants Ottawa is an initiative that brings together employers, immigrant agencies and stakeholders to enhance employers’ abilities to access the talents of skilled immigrants in the Ottawa area.
The annual award is based on the judgement of an independent selection committee made up of Human Resource executives from the National Capital Region. Accepting the award on behalf of Payments Canada was Michaela McBean, Senior Director of Organizational Development.
