Payments Canada’s response to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s consultation on transfers for processing

Payments Canada has responded to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s transfers for processing consultation paper. The consultation invited stakeholder views on both current and future law with respect to privacy protection in the context of transfers for processing, including cross border transfers.

In its response, Payments Canada details its concerns to OPC’s proposed policy position, noting the significant impacts on the payments industry that the proposed changes could have, including adding significant and unnecessary complications.
