Payments Canada welcomes new appointees to its advisory councils

Payments Canada welcomes and congratulates the newest appointees to its Member Advisory Council (MAC), effective July 1, 2019, and Stakeholder Advisory Council (SAC), effective April 1, 2019.

The modernization of Canada’s payments systems is dependent on the collaboration of all participants and stakeholders, including businesses, government, financial institutions and consumers. Payments Canada works closely with representatives from each of these groups through its MAC and SAC.  

Each council discusses, debates and delivers important advice and insight to Payments Canada’s management team and board of directors on key elements of the Modernization program, as well as ongoing operations, policies and initiatives. 

The MAC appointees represent:

  • EQ Bank 
  • Scotiabank
  • Citibank
  • Coast Capital
  • Wells Fargo
  • TD (re-elected)

The  SAC appointees represent:

  • Canadian Tire
  • Fintech Growth Syndicate
  • Intact Financial Corporation
  • Google Payments
  • Paybright
  • Transferwise
  • CLHIA (mid-term vacancy)
  • Symcor (mid-term vacancy)

Payments Canada would also thanks its outgoing council members for their many contributions.
